It was my privilege to visit Raichoty Town in Kadappa District a few weeks ago. The journey to this place from Bangalore airport took about six hours as the roads were bumpy. We were passing through the Rayala Seema area where stones are in plenty. Granite and tiles are collected in huge quantity from these areas.

I was visiting one of our URI units there, founded by a mother and daughter-- Fareeda and Heena. They have started an Old Age Home, where there are more than thirty inmates now. Heena Wome Rural Development Society is doing amazing projects for the upliftment of rural folk, especially women and the old age home is a new initiative. I asked how they mobilise funds. Dr. Heena is running a health clinic and she says all the money she gets from the clinic is pumped into this project. Of course, they receive assistance from good people around. 

These two ladies display the real might of women power.
